Interview with Double Foreigners -Dadi Janki

Dadi Janki  28.12. 2011, Gyan Sarovar.

Interview with Double Foreigners

Gopi:
At the present time the scenes of the world and the form of the yagya is changing rapidly and this time is like the transition stage.  During this time we have to really awaken the power of transformation in the self and this is dependent on our attitude.  The aim of this interview is to understand this ‘attitude shift’.   When we are physically ill the doctors say that the medicines work only 30% and the power of recovery is based on our attitude.  We will look at the definition of renunciation and tapasya and go into the depth of these two words.

Q
Often we think ‘renunciation’ means giving something up and this can create feelings of heaviness and  Dadi has been talking about renunciation differently in a way that it is more about inner purity and virtues and fullness to make a complete shift inside.  Can Dadi describe further the aspect of the new energy of renunciation which includes fullness and self appreciation?

A
The meaning of the word renunciation is to renounce body consciousness once we acquire knowledge and understanding that ‘I am a soul’.  Firstly, Baba always said that whilst walking on the path of knowledge always make the contrast between body consciousness and soul consciousness  sit in the intellect.  At first we were ignorant, we didn’t know about the soul, God or drama.  Now Baba has shares all these three aspects at the Confluence Age.  This knowledge of the Confluence Age is very valuable.  Renunciation happens through the knowledge acquired now and when the soul receives power from the Supreme Soul.  This godly power finishes our weaknesses and renunciation happens automatically.  We have come out of the dirty world and have come to sit in this pure, clean world.  This is our fortune not renunciation.  If the intellect is outside in the dirty world then we will not enjoy here.  Fortunate is one who understands as soon as he/she sits here.

The second aspect is tapasya.  This is a very powerful word.  There is first remembrance, then tapasya.  Remembrance means we only keep one Baba in the intellect, and do not remember any gross thing.  There is so much enjoyment in this study. Whatever we listen we must imbibe it and then the intellect understands and automatically engages in remembrance of ‘One Baba and none other’.  To be in the awareness of the fortune we receive from Baba is tapasya.  Remembrance means relation and connection.  Renunciation is fortune, through attainment from God  we develop the fortune of becoming complete and full.  All the weaknesses are removed and sorrow has finished.  The happiness the soul receives when we become Baba’s is immense.  Our sorrow is finished completely and my bhavna now is to make sure everyone receives such happiness.  Renunciation is an attitude and bhavna is a feeling.

In every murli Baba asks us to churn the jewels of knowledge and we need to check to see how much we are imbibing the jewels of knowledge and using them in life in a practical way.  With the attitude of renunciation this kind of churning takes place in the mind.  The mind automatically gets engaged in this activity and enjoys it.  We understand it with the intellect but we need to make intense effort to bring this into actions in a practical way.  We can do this when we value our time and give up laziness.  Then we will have no bondage of karma and no bondage will pull us.  We remain free.  Intense effort generates the fire of yoga and then everything happens in a easy manner.

Take the fragrance of power from Baba, and experience the fragrance. In the same way we automatically experience the fragrance of the rose.

Q
Dadi, you have highlighted two things:
1)       The basis for renunciation is complete understanding
2)       Renunciation is the ability to draw complete powers from Baba.
We feel that when we have complete understanding and power the quality of the soul increases.  We start to appreciate our part and the part of others.  In the present time there is a feeling sometimes, we all have, of not being acknowledged or appreciated.  Not being asked for or taken care of.  Will you highlight this aspect of appreciation?

A
Go deep within and experience soul consciousness.  When we don’t have this experience then we start to have these feelings.  What do the people of the world do at this present time?  The only thing they are interested in is to earn a name and become famous.  Here if we do anything with the intention of earning a name for the self, we don’t get the same response like the one in the world receives.  So the intellect starts thinking that if I was in the world I would get so much appreciation but here I don’t.   We are not working here, we are serving.  So the intention to earn a ‘name’  is ego and body consciousness.  If you don’t get respect you will feel lonely…so only look at One Baba.  See what Baba is teaching me and what am I doing. Who am I?  The consciousness of ‘I’ will bring insult.  This needs to go.  Look at Baba in the sakar form.  He gave so much regard.  Yet very few of us recognised who he was.  He had no intention to earn a name for the self, he was always ‘on Godly service’.  We cease to be on Godly service when we work with the intention to earn a name.
We are children of God and serving in the Yagya which belongs to our Father.  Personal happiness needs to increase and there is nothing to feel sorrowful about.

Q
One of Dadi’s key specialities is honesty and Dadi’s journey of honesty has helped her to get to the stage of ‘being beyond’.  What is the deep connection between renunciation and honesty and can Dadi describe this level of honesty so we can become like Dadi?

A
When a business person shows something nice people will ask ‘where was it made?’  Dadi is an example.  Who has made me.  My intellect is with the One who created me…this is honesty.  The one who teaches and inspires is Baba.  There should be no mixture in our thoughts.  We do not need to justify because honesty is automatically revealed and never ‘justified’.  Honesty is a personal experience.  Go deep within and check there is no mixture with desires, and thoughts are pure and clean. Cleanliness is first and honesty is second.  Medicines only work 30% but the real medicine is to have a pure attitude.  The medicine that Baba gives will only work when the attitude becomes pure.  The attitude needs to be that ‘Baba is doing everything’ and recognise Baba is  helping.  Neither have bad feelings for any actor in the drama nor get influenced by any soul.  Do not discriminate at all.  Discrimination is an illness within and doesn’t allow us to pull Baba’s power.  It is our duty to see that whoever is in Baba’s service is very good and whatever duty they are doing is very good.  When there is bhavna to serve the Yagya then I appreciate that soul and that one will catch my pure bhavna then be inspired to do more service.  It is our responsibility not to expect too much from others. It is a subtle thing.

When Baba comes into the gathering He loves all of us so much.  Every child is in Baba’s drishti and vision.  Our actions should be such that we have appreciation for every soul.  This is only possible when there is absolute cleanliness within.  Please do not have any negative feelings for any other soul….even if they have done something wrong, that is their karma.  If you listen to the negative that will go within you and your fortune to think positive will leave you forever.  It is a fortune to to remain in pure thoughts and bring benefit to others.  Shiv Baba said to Brahma Baba, that because of you, everyone will benefit.  So become an instrument to bring benefit to others.  Being clean means having no negative thoughts for any soul.  Become lovely.  Within the Brahmin family we do not ask for anything and yet we become worthy of respect.  Make effort and become worthy of praise.  Asking for praise brings insult and will never allow you to experience self-respect.  Is this a sign of a royal soul?  It is not graceful.  Is this OK?

Q
Dadi gave us a very clear picture that we always need cleanliness in our attitude so the bhavna is awakened and allows us to have the relationship with Baba and maintain respect for others.  Our attitude, bhavna and mind have a deep relationship with each other.  In yoga when there is something going on in the mind, it is troubled,  we feel that this is something separate. Sometimes we become fearful of the thoughts of the mind.  How can we use the connection between the mind, feeling and attitudes in such a way we can strengthen the power of our thoughts and experience inner power?

A
When I was in devotion I read all the vedas and many of them said that the soul leaves one body and takes another.  There were different understandings of where God is and there was quite a confusion.  I questioned Who am I and Who is God. Noone can clarify this except God Himself.  No one tells us what Baba tells us…I am a soul.  I feel light hearing this.  When Baba was sakar and he gave us the introduction to the soul, with the mind and intellect and the sanskars based on our past karma.  Now the sanskars are transforming. First through the mind  become manmanabhav and attach to the One, This makes the intellect peaceful and allows the original sanskars to emerge from last kalpa.  I am an original child of last Kalpa, Brahma Baba’s child.  Let the attitude become clean and the feelings pure and develop so much bhavna for Baba, that whatever happens the bhavna doesn’t change.  Baba places His hand on my head and gives so much happiness.  From the day that we come into gyan until now His hand is on our heads.
When I have a pure thought based on bhavna then the entire world is served.  Baba ordered me to go to London and make a model of Madhuban and I said ‘haji’.  I have had the pure bhavna to fulfil it.  Such good souls have emerged from the foreign lands.  It is my bhavna that has allowed me to progress so much.  It is not the intellect.  It is the honesty that I have in my feelings.  The ability to remain detached from wanting any praise is my natural nature as God’s child.  We are all children of God and we are all moving ahead with this pure bhavna, serving the yagya with this.

Q
What I understand from your answer is that the basis for these pure feelings of bhavna comes with a deep recognition of ‘who am I’ and ‘whom do I belong to’.  Please can you expand on knowing, recognising and realising.

A
One is Knowing.  Two is believing and Three is recognition.  I know and then the intellect believes firmly. Then I recognise and through this I experience attainment.  This attainment helps me realise and my real ‘I’ opens.  When we have realisation we are able to play our part with clarity and we will not get confused.

Q
The final question is returning to  tyaag and tapasya.  My understanding is that in the beginning, in the first 14 years everyone who came spent much time in solitude and creating the energy to break what was old within.  Now we are very much engaged in expansion and so what is the tapasya that is required now to emerge the new within?

It was Baba’s renunciation and tapasya that created the sanskars of tapasya and renunciation in our lives.  We did so much karma seva of the physical body, washing clothes, washing vessels, cleaning food grains.  We did it all with our own hands and we kept such attention on ourselves not to remember any bodily being nor have any waste chitchat amongst ourselves.  We can have the same practise now.  It just needs interest to make this kind of elevated effort.  We need to expand and create a wave of elevated effort. This is the time of expansion so we have to create a wave of tapasya and renunciation in the whole world.  Remember Shiv Baba and follow Brahma Baba and you will develop the power of concentration. Both of these are needed for tapasya. No matter how many people there are around we can go deep into solitude within.  We have to have an interest to go deep within and really understand ‘Who is One?’ Our sins are burnt with this type of practise.  In a practical way we then become clean, pure and elevated.
